Your Circulatory System

If you look at a road map, you'll see highways and roads going this way and that. Your body has its very own highway system, called the circulatory system. The roads of the circulatory system are called blood vessels. Blood Vessels are tiny tubes that carry blood and proteins all around the body. Arteries are the kind of blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart. Arteries are usually red. Veins are the kind of blood vessels that carry blood back to the heart. Veins are usually blue. Capillaries are the tiniest blood vessels. They reach in the smallest parts of your body and connect arteries and veins. Your heart pumps the blood all around the circulatory system.
